New Releases
- Joomla 1.6.5 Released. Joomla 1.6.5 was released on July 11. This latest release includes some security updates, but it will also provide you the fast, easy way to upgrade from Joomla 1.6 to 1.7. You will not be able to move to Joomla 1.7 from any other version of Joomla 1.6, because this version contains some database fixes that are required for the upgrade.
- Joomla 1.7 Release Candidate Released. Joomla 1.7 RC1 is released. This is an opportunity for you to test any 1.6 sites you may have and make sure they are running correctly in Joomla 1.7.
- July Joomla Community Magazine. On the 1st of every month, the Joomla Community Magazine is released. One of the notable articles this month has to do with the separation of the Joomla CMS from the Joomla framework. This might be something you’ve heard about, but don’t quite understand, and this article explains it nicely.
Requests for Help
- The Joomla Events Team is looking for help with approving and managing Joomla events (like Joomla Days).
- There are continuing calls for help in the Joomla Forum, if you’d like to get involved with Joomla in other ways.
