Are Online Communities the new Blogs?

December 10, 2008 By barrie@compassdesigns.net Leave a Comment

I have been making this argument for a while now. I think that all sites live on a progression to becoming an online community. This is why I prefer Joomla for blogging. I wrote last year about why you want to use Joomla instead of wordpress, and it stills rings true. Joomla is *much* more extensible and making that leap from blog to community is much much easier.

What do you think, should all sites move towards becoming an online community?

The Skinny

I am an entrepreneur, web consultant, author and educator.

I have been involved in starting a K-12 School District, a Private High School, and three web tech companies. I also wrote one of the original and best selling books on Joomla.

And I like sailing with kids.
