A while back I blogged about a tool called Zapier that can be used to connect web apps together. I had been using it to connect Mailchimp, Wufoo and Highrise. Now I have found it’s possible to create Custom Zapier Connectors.
Zapier is a leading integration platform as a service (iPaaS) for non-technical users to integrate web applications to run automated tasks. The way it works is that you pick your two web apps, you SaaS’s, and then decide on triggers and actions.
So for example, one of you web apps might be Wufoo, the trigger when a form is filled out, and the action to send the data entered to another web app.
Much of this is very very easy, and the Zapier interface is simple to use.
The challenge comes if the particular trigger or action you are looking for does not exist. For example, while working on a WordPress site, I discovered that in Zapier there was not a trigger for “New User Created”.
Fortunately, there are a few companies that can help with custom Zapier connectors. Based out of Durham, NH, Left Hook Digital specializes in exactly that.
If you are working with Zapier, don’t hesitate to reach out to them.
