I am pulling data from the source forge to get the following table
Date | # Commits | Open Bugs |
Thursday Jan 31st | 33 | 34 |
Friday Feb 1st | 18 | 34 |
Saturday Feb 2nd | 5 | 33 |
Sunday Feb 4th | 31 | – |
Monday Feb 5th | – | – |
Tuesday Feb 6th | – | 32 |
I am guessing that when the open bugs goes to zero, we should be hearing an announcement at www.joomla.org!
Some caveats:
- I took a longer snapshot and Thursday and Friday always have the most commits. Someone seems to be eating their wheaties on those days.
- I have no idea whether this is valid or not, but its fun to watch!
More Ohloh
A while back I blogged about the dollar value of the Joomla project based on a tool at www.ohloh.com. They have a new look on their site, here is what they have to say about the Joomla project:
Factoid: “Very large, active development team”
Over the past twelve months, 27 developers contributed new code to Joomla!. This is one of the largest open-source teams in the world, and is in the top 2% of all project teams on Ohloh.
Factoid: “Well-commented source code”
Across all PHP projects on Ohloh, 24% of all source code lines are comments. For Joomla!, this figure is 35%. This high number of comments puts Joomla! among the highest one-third of all PHP projects on Ohloh. A high number of comments might indicate that the code is well-documented and organized, and could be a sign of a helpful and disciplined development team.
They even have a great handy badge you can put on your site:
