Vermont Martial Arts Dojo Website Launched

Last month I launched a new Martial Arts Website for a small Dojo in White River Junction, Vermont.

White River Budokan is a traditional dojo with some world class instructors, Head Instructor Ron Treem was recently featured in the Valley News. It needed a clean design that reflected its traditional approach.

Farm eCommerce Site With WordPress

I recently launched a new customer site for one of our local Strafford businesses, the Strafford Organic Creamery. The site was built in WordPress and featured a wholesale order form customization using WooCommerce.

Woocommerce has become an eCommerce powerhouse in the last year. After being acquired by Automattic (the company behind WordPress itself), it’s now powering a large portion of eCommerce websites (30% of all online stores supposedly). It is very powerful. But while the core plugin is free the very useful add-ons are expensive. They are priced $50 to $100 and you’ll generally need a couple or more.

Converting From Joomla to WordPress

wordpress-logo-notext-rgbWith a new focus on pure blogging, I have decided to convert compassdesigns.net from a Joomla site to WordPress. In several previous posts I have talked about WordPress is the better platform for blogging, but Joomla is better if you want to easily add a wider range of features. Through its various incarnations, compassdesigns.net has had forums, social networks, downloads and ebook sales.

Now, however, it’s going to be pure blogging. Just me, my thoughts and the 8 people that listen to me out there.

UVEI Launches with Simplweb

Many K-12 schools find Simplweb‘s fully managed service a useful way to maintain their websites. Some higher education schools are also following the trend. The latest addition to the Simplweb family is the Upper Valley Educators Institute, a principal and teacher certification school of education.
